restoring 1949 super A

I am a 20 year old boy from Australia who has just taken up a new hobbie restoring my grandfathers 1949 super A tractor this is a major job as bits an peices are scattered all over the farm and lots of parts are siezed the question i would like to ask is i have the distubitor shaft out and i cant remove the rotor it is siezed solid i dont want to damage any componets because its very hard to get bits over here as there is not a lot around my area and im not to confident ordering parts over the internet just yet should i soak it in Diesel
