Some of the WORST DAYS OF MY LIFE have been spent on jd A's, G's 60's & 70's. Dad had an R diesel as the first tractor I did field work with when I was about 12. I had to come up with some pretty BS excusses to get off that R and back on the Super M-TA. My ears would ring for hours after I got off those old 2-cyl. tractors. Lucky I can hear at all now. They also pretty well shook themselves to death too. And if you had about 6 arms & hands you could run them as well as a FARMALL doing things like backing 4-wheel wagons up hills, and doing loader work.
