Stan, The diameter is unimportant. Width is however because you must match the other pulleys on the tractor. Remember that the output is going to be much higher than the old charging system and the speed that the alternator runs is going to determine the duration of the charge. Since the tractor has minimal power requirement the battery will get charged even if the run time is short. Any alt/starter shop should be able to provide a pulley.
