I"m not sure where you are getting your information but you are a little off base. My grandfather bought an 806 right after they came out and it had flat tops. Flat top fenders were always an option. The 1206 didn"t come out until 1965 and by that time there were thousands of 806"s and 706"s running around with flat top fenders. I don"t know what part of the country you live in but around here I never knew of an 806 ordered or delivered without fenders. Think about it. Why would anyone want to ride a tractor that size with big tires without the protection of fenders? Even the tractors that had cabs added were ordered with fenders. The fenders either stayed on or went in a corner of the barn. I may be wrong but I don"t believe no fenders was standard. I think round fenders were probably standard and the deluxe flat tops were probably on option.
