Original 400 will have a 6 digit engine serial number. 450 engine serial number no more than 5 digits. 400 chassis has a threaded hole in the lower end of the clutch pedal with a set bolt and lock nut. 450 just has a undrilled lower end clutch pedal. With a T/A, follow the operating rod from the T/A lever to its attaching point. That small lever on a 400 has a number 359907R1. 450 has number 366352R1 on the lever. If the tractor has the original engine the month built can be determined by its serial number.
