I hate to correct poeple, but.... Cub Lowboys were both 6v and 12v. It's the cub cadets that we all 12v and used the starter/generator.
A cub lowboy was basically a lowered cub tractor; it had a small four cylinder c60 engine. They had a separate starter and generator. I know, as I have a 1958 lowboy.
The Cub cadet came out in 1962 and used a Kohler single cylinder engine; the starter generator was set up on this engine. I knwo this as I have a 1962 Cub cadet.
