I never did say you were wrong I just find the way I described very easy and less work and less thinking. If you are doing this on a running tractor the easiest way to determine TDC is turn the pulley to the TDC mark and take the cap off. If the rotor is pointing to #1 you are at TDC the rotor is 180 degrees off you need to rotate the pulley 360.
