HI COOP: The thumbscrew they are refering to is on a hose clamp that hold the two halves of the collar (Stroke Limit Colar)together. You may not have one because the hose clamp falls off (gets broken or whatever ) I have three (3) fast hitches and none had them on. One had just the hose clamp. I made one out of pipe and welded a big washer (actually 1/2 of one) on one half. This may not make sense to you ,but if you can find parts list for the cyl. and look at it you will see what I mean.
