I have never been into mine, but the parts breakdown just shows a washer and 1/2-13x1" cap screw on the outer end. However, in the I&T manual it does not show the 240U, but I know some things to be similar to or the same as the 404/2404. For the 404, it shows taking the entire shaft out, which is held in by a snap-ring on the inner end of the axle shaft. Then of course, the I&T manual says some things should be obvious... yeah, right!!
