Paul, when I encounter a problem such as you are experiencing I take my old seal and go to my friendly industrial seal supplier. Seals come in many designs and applications. Most seals in the tractor are single lip design (intrepret this as cheap). It is possible to get multiple lip design seals in the same ID and OD sizes as the original in most instances(this translates to more costly but improved sealing). It would probably be worth your time to have a conversation with the closest industrial rep. Try to find someone with gray hair around the temples to submit your question to. Good luck.
