There is of course the debate about using non-detergent vs detergent oil. Actually theres not that much debate, detergent oil is MUCH better but it will break loose pieces of crud in your engine, thats the detergent properties at work. Assuming you go to detergent oil (and practically any oil will work, use at least 30wt, 10w30 as been said is fine) plan on changing it again in a relatively short time, say four or five hours of runtime. Then the next change can be a little longer, etc.
I"ve been using Mobil Delvac 1300 15w40 in our Super M for a couple years now. Its diesel rated so high detergent, I did short changes like outlined above. Also because its thick I let the engine idle a little longer before I put much load on it and even then the first load is just to ride around for a couple minutes, get everything good and warm before working it.
