A 2+2 has a little different path for the oil through the mcv than the row crop tractors. The flow divider does not control the flow to the steering as it does in other models. I have seen a couple of them where the pressure regulator valve and or flow divider sticks from contamination from the steering pump. I put a lot of filter screens fittings in to help solve this problem. Originally they did not have one. At any rate, the steering may still be working fine and you lose oil to the TA and brakes etc so direct drive will slip or not work at all. Check your regulated pressures and go from there. The red light should be giving you indications but so many tractors have red lights that don't work for various reasons and when you are new to a tractor you may not realize how it is supposed to work.
