Nope - it's 1-1/4" movement measured AT the pedal!
I use a small square. Set one leg of the square flat on the tranny deck deck then slide it forward until the vertical leg touches the pedal. While holding the square stationary now push the pedal until you feel the T.O. bearing make contact. If the clutch is set right the pedal there will now be 1-1/4" between pedal and the vertical leg of the square.
