Last week I visited a friend of mine in Iowa. He has a H like I have never seen before. It has a wide frontend which came off the rear of a combine. Also, the rear wheels are the front wheels from the combine. It gives it a low slung look, slightly higher in the front. This tractor is a 1942 model according to my serial number book. It has a high and low speed control and a three point hitch. While I am not an expert on H's I have looked at many of them since I bought my first one and I have never seen this two speed situation before. I drove the tractor doing some yard with a box blade and it ran great and handles good. My friend uses it to plow snow from his parking lot of his business. Was this two speed a common situation on some H's? I took pictures but I don't have a scanner. Maybe I will get some on later. I thought this was a very interesting tractor. Hope some of you share my thoughts. Ed
