Might not be much help to you David, but the E4A was available with a choice of impulse couplers. Both mine have the automatic impulse couplers with male lugs as you described, but I haven't ever come across the other type so I can't describe it to you. Someone should be familiar with it. PS. Had 130 points of rain on Saturday, needed it badly as some of the Wheat was starting to suffer badly from the dry.
