split my M last night thinking my rear main was bad causing all kinds of oil in bell housing but to my surprise it didnt look to bad behind the flywheel, could it have been the hydraulic pump causing all the residue? front tranny seal doesnt look bad nor does the shaft that turns the pump. on another thought how do I tell if the pressure plate is bad? should I change the seal because I have it split even though it doesnt look like it was leaking? let me know your thoughts.
