A push/pull pole is better, but it would only work if the tractors are hooked drawbar to drawbar. (one guy would be backwards) OR if you put a front hitch on your tractor it would work with both going forward. Problem with that is you don't want to pull a tractor too far like that because the trans will not get sufficient.
So IMO bring your chain and it will get your off the road. I wouldn't pull my tractor to finish the ride, but that is my opinion.
That push/pull pole works GREAT for loading a dead tractor onto the trailer. We use a pickup rather than a tractor for a little more control.
