Great tractors like all have said they are very complex engines and expensive to find engine parts for. Their biggest downfall is that when the tractor is rin hard ie running a baler you need to properly cool the engine down or they can crack the head, this is a very widely known and common problem that has always been associated with the ih gas start diesels. The best advice buy a $20 operators manual for the smd they can be found on ebay binder books ect. And familiarize yourself with the tractor. Again very nice find and there are a great group of guys on here that can answer any of your questions.
