tear it down like this. there is no way you can slip it up in a small gap, it needs to be put on in one piece. take the PTO out and reach in to take off the bolt holding the bull gear on. drain the oil out first though. take the wheel off and pull it off with a cherry picker. i just did these on my 450LP i restored, and i did it by myself ina few hours. one other trick is take wood shims and stick them under the bull gear so it doesnt fall down and you can stick the axle back in easier.
