Having a magneto really does not change much with the alternator wiring. with a magneto, you still need a switch to turn on / off 12V power to the Alternator #1 excite wire. This wire should have a gen light, (can be hidden, taped up in the harness) inline between the switch and alternator. If not already done, buy an alternator harness repair plug ( mid to late 70's Chevy) and install it on the regulator blades in the alternator. This plug will make your alternator conversion much more professional looking and make the connections safe from shorting to the alternator case. The one shown in the link is overpriced, should cost about $3 at your local auto parts store.
