Ralph, Just pull the crank out and take it to a machine shop. The machinist can check the crank journals with a micrometer and tell you if they are within roundness tolerance. If not, the crank will need to be "turned" on a lathe to get the journals round again. If the crank is out of round and you use it like that, the new bearings won't last long. Also, if the crank has been turned before, it should be stamped with the undersize dimensions on the crank somewhere (10x10 will indicate that the rod and main journals were ground to .010 undersize). The machinist is your best friend here unless , of course, you are a machinist yourself! Phil
