Simple: Shut the engine off.
The oil that is sucked up into the mesh when you start the tractor flows back down into the bottom and washes the dirt into the cup when you shut down.
Change the oil regularly and everything is fine.
Odds are this will probably spark another argument over oil bath vs. paper filter, but your tractor has survived fine with the oil bath for 55 years... That's gotta count for something.
