Heat Houser History?

When did heat housers become comericaly avaible?
This thought crossed my mind as I drove into the wind yesterday, longjons, winter gloves, pac boots and a motorcycle helmet worked ok but more then an hour in the helmet gets old. Gonna check the sheds and see if dad has an old heat houser that might fit.
