Excellent idea for an alarm. What would sell would be an alarm clock radio with a chip to record custom sounds (such as an MD switching to diesel) provided by the user. When I was operating a TD-14 I was guilty of switching between gas and diesel more than necessary just to hear the diesel pick up and see the smoke roll. It would be pleasant to wake up to, but I'm not sure it would roll you out of bed unless you were going to start a tractor. My ex yelling at me would get me up and out (and happy it's not for real).

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
