The device on top of it is a cutout relay, not a regulator. It is also wired (from what I see) wrong. If it was originally on a tractor with no headlights from the factory, the field wire should be connected to Field on the cutout. and no other wire connected to Field terminals. If it has lights, and a 4 position light switch, the Field wire connection to the cutout should be removed. The other wire should be 10 gauge, and if it is the arm or Gen terminal it should be attached to the A terminal on the Gen. The other terminal (bat) on the Cutout should be attached to the amp gauge load side. Jim
