You can use your analog meter pos ground to the gen and other lead to the A terminal set meter on a 2v scale and spin gen by hand if its any good it will read something depending on how fast you spin the gen. Remember to polarize the gen by jumping from batt term on the reg to the ARMATURE terminal on the gen and be sure to hook the ground cable on the battery to POSITIVE ground as your regulator wont like Neg GROUND it wasnt made for that.
