Andy: Perhaps I misunderstood, but the oil pump is not in the pan in the Cub...it's behind the flywheel and accessed only by splitting the tractor. Two gears spin in a housing there. Most likely loss of pressure is worn crank/cam bearings. Robbie: One thing to check/replace is the oil pressure regulator spring and seal. It is behind a large hex plug on the right side, near the front, of the engine. I have been experiencing a similar problem, replaced the spring and seal, and picked-up some pressure. Also, swithch to 15-w40 oil or use an additive. If you do pull the pan, the oil pick-up screen should be cleaned. Good luck.
