I'm not real familiar with the toolbox on a C, or the battery box, but I'll tell you what I used to replace the battery box on my Super H (the battery box is what the seat attaches to). I found that a surplus 20MM ammunition can is about the same width as the box but a few inches longer. With a lot of modifications to the box and 2 extra holes in the original lid, I have a new box for a total cost of about $25 (rather than the $80 for a repro unit). It took about 3 hours of work, but it was cheap (like me). Whether that will work for you on a C I don't know. Otherwise, a welder and bending brake are the way to go if you don't want to pony up for a repro...regards...BB
