To take the axle out, you have 2 options.. you can remove the deck plate to take the bull gear out, which will take some time, but makes the process less stressful. OR you can remove the PTO and disconnect the bull gear there.. Putting the bull gear back on thru this manner is difficult.. As far as the gaskets, your local case IH dealer will be able to get them, they are still available.
