Look at the picture, the cable goes in the center housing loops back and then goes in the transmission. One item in the picture is a special bolt that takes the place of center housing to transmission housing bolt. Old cable sleeve is sticking out both ends. On the center housing end is a nut that screws on the outside of the cable and then screws into the special bolt. Inside the transmission the cable wire goes in the shift lever where the lock bolt and nut is. Some levers have a different lock screw set up than the picture. Should be able to replace the cable by removing the belt pulley gear box or a cover plate if no gear box. Probably have to drop the liftall unit or just the cover plate if no liftall to access the cable nut and get the cable removed and in.
