I have a I544 with I think the C200 engine. I have the gas tank that is above the starter. My gas goes from the tank to the sediment bowl to the other side of the tractor to a mechanical fuel pump. From the fuel pump it goes to the otherside (right side) to the carburator.
I have removed the line from the sediment bowl and got fuel flow. I then went to the inlet side of the fuel pump and got fuel flow. I then went to the outlet side of the fuel pump and had no fuel flow. I then motored the engine and still had no flow from the fuel pump.
I removed the pump and pushed on the cam arm of the pump and it pumped fuel. I then replaced it and motored the engine and it still did not pump.
So I am wondering what is going on??? I did read that the I544 was a gravity flow system. Is that correct or does anyone have an idea of where I should go next.
Is there a possibility that my cam is bad that is suppose to operate my fuel pump and how would I check that.
