The serial list says first engine for October '58 was 76340, which supports your September 1958 answer. However, I think there was a transcription error in the serial list and the number should be 70340. That would be more consistent with the serials listed for 10/58 for the F-240 and I-240. I would also be more consistent with the November numbers for all 3 tractor models (including 71399 for the 140).
