Like any older machine, hopefully it has been properly cared for. They had a great diesel motor, strong hydraulics, and a pretty slick transmission for the early seventies. The rear end, etc was used on much more powerful models and so is really over built for a 454. Tin work can be a little hard to find but its out there if needed.
