Yes, it was produced in 1954- a look at the casting codes should confrm that- sometimes there was bleedover between models, but probably not that much. However, a few states did do tractor "titles" back then, mainly on the East Coast, (I wanna say Jersey) and the tractor was titled as new when the tractor came off the lot, which might explain the 55.
