The grounds at DuQuoin has lots of shade trees. I'd say take your time, sit and visit, you will know what you want to see. But the boy is gonna want to run. Stay flexible and don't try to be a 3some all the time. My dad went with me to Red Power one time. He sat in a chair and visited while I went out roaming around. We were there three days and he had a ball! Also, the children's author Billy Steers (Tractor Mac) will be there telling stories and will have special programs for the young ones in the pavilion.
