First off, To all of you out there that take the time and energy to share your expertise and experiences THANK YOU! This is my second post/question. On my Farmall 504 it has the power assist steering under the steering wheel and an oil cooler for it in front of radiator and an after market wide front, no loader. It seems to have a very loud squeel (like air) coming from the cooler area at any rpm however if I turn the steering to the stops the noise seems to go away. I have changed hydraulic oil and filter and filled the oil to 8" below operator platform (higher than check plug). When I put a screwdriver on the 3 way diverter valve (the valve where you can adjust how much oil goes to the steering pump)it sounds kinda like the whine/squeel I hear in the front. 3 pt hitch and draft control all seem to work fine. Seen a post dated 10 July 2010 about PS check/relief valve. I do have the manual for the tractor. Any ideas?
