Thank you fellas. I do recall finding that out on a 350 tractor years ago....the old ring was way down in, and like it had actually 2 rubber rings in there. I have a dental pick or 2 and will try to find out if there is some junk in that groove. I usually get them loose by taking my time, I just never suspected this filter would have 2 rings in it as I did get the one out without breaking it. I will check at a later time though, as it is working fine as is right now. Thanks for the comments .........
