To ltf in nc: Thanks for the tip. I have suspected the float level may be too high, have disassembled, cleaned and reassembled the carb, but that didn't necessarily prove anything to me. Your way of checking the float level in a static position and while running is great. Can hardly wait to get into town in the morning and pick up a fitting and some tubing. I checked on the price of a carb for that tractor today and it made my eyes water. Going to give this a try soon. If I ever solve this problem I will post for others may benefit from this. Thanks a million. Gene
