LJD: I just purchased a 3444 with a backhoe attached. The engine is a BD154. For the life of me, I am unable to determine what the stock glow plug part number should be (Champion AC-28 plugs were installed, all 4 are burned out). But rather than buy new ones, I'd prefer to switch to your 12 volt solution, and about that I have a question:
Are the new glow plugs the type that work in the BD154? And is the glow plug thread size all the same on every BD154 engine? I keep hearing about some made in the UK, some here, etc., so I am confused.
For a switch to fire them up, is anything special needed? I haven't seen anything mentioned about resistance of the new plugs, or the current draw.
Thanks for the trouble you went through to publish your approach to the new glow plug design. It seems to have helped a lot of people.
