Last night I dropped the oil pan on my 48 Super A. And to get the rear bolts out you have to remove 2 screws to drop what to me would be the lower half of the bell housing for the clutch. Which I did and here was all this white light fluffy stuff in there. Almost like cottonseed I would describe it as, or a mouse nest. Any idea why that would be in there? From the factory would it be? I sure can't see why...so wondering if at some point if a mouse didn't get in there.
Then also IH has the gasket for the oil pan, but not the felt lining for that clutch cover, can I just use an old wool sock or something to seal it up, or what would be best to use.
I can get pictures once I am home after work. Thanks.
