Red, you are right. It is obvious that something is clogging the delivery to the bowl. Paul, the fuel is gravity fed to the bowl. The float is to control the level available to the carb. If the carb bowl refills to the correct level and the carb does not overflow causing fuel to run out of the carb the float is working. It is a lack of supply of fuel to the needle/seat & float problem. The needle/seat & float is designed to maintain fuel at a predetermined level to be available to the carb. That level is not being maintained because the supply is blocked. Did I mention that you are not getting gas fast enough to the carb bowl! Just kidding. Good luck
