Some home brewers, like myself have chemistry skills and background. I'm lucky in that I work in designing process equipment, and have a biodiesel manufacturer as a client. I have access to ASTM testing methods and my fuel is better than the specifications.
A good hobbyist can also get spec fuel from his operation. There are some who really are lousy brewers, and some idiots don't even wash their fuel. Know where and who is making your fuel if it isn't coming from an ASTM compliant plant.
The greater concentration of Biodiesel does NOT impede starting unless it's frozen solid.
