I am leaning that way Jim.I just want to see the ACTUALL Ohm readings on these new coils. From what the first guy is saying(NOT quite sure if it is accurate???) I am thinking these coils have enough internal resistance already that they might not need any external ballast added??? (DO NOT KNOW AT THIS TIME!)
I am STILL gonna do the resistor bypass that you mentioned.I have a dozen or so diodes laying around. The starter motors on both my Ford 600 and My Super m are definitely "robbing" my coils of voltage on start up! My first clue is when I am cranking the SH!T out of them and they fire up WHEN I RELEASE THE STARTER BUTTON !!!! My Super m has backfired HARD sometimes when I am releasing the starter button, and then took off running!!!! When it is cold out,My ford wont even start.Pushed it out of the garage when it was warm, started, but not easily.Left it set out a few hours in the cool.WONT START AT ALL !!!!
