In addition to Zachary's point, the clutch disk may be dragging a small amount on the Flywheel or Pressure plate when the pedal is depressed. If you have the free play set to one inch (measured from the platform to the pedal stop when pushed in gently by hand) the transmission should slow and stop allowing shifting within 12 seconds with the pedal pushed at least 6" down. If it does it is normal. if it doesn't, the disk is dragging, splines on hub are rusty, disk is warped some, or the pilot bearing is in need of lubrication. Jim
