The difference is that:

1. The bottom of the tank is soldered to the body of the tank, so that it is smooth on the bottom, instead of having a lip like the later tank.

2. The sediment bowl goes into the small tank where the needle valve goes into the main tank.

There are several differences in the main tank also..
