Rule of thumb:Before you do anything, remove the oil drain plug and catch some in a qt. jar. (Not the pit cock valves, the drain plug). Let it stand and observe. If you have no water, you should be able to free it up without dumping a fortune into it. If you have green water on the bottom the block is cracked or the head gasket is blown. Clear water is rain water that came in through the stack. This can be bad, but usually will mean only one cylinder is stuck. I have freed up several tractors and I find that an oak block and a 10 lb sledge works the best.
