After looking at the bell housing of a 400 with a TA and a farmall SMTA about the only big difference i can see is sheet metal. The enging mounting plates look the same and the TA engament levers look the same brakes, pedels bolt paterns it all apperes it could line up. So here is my big question could i take a farmall M from 49 pulle the bell housing add a TA and would it work? or could i just take the entire rear end of a 400 bolt it to the front end of an M and have somthing i could pick corn with?
