How does such a simple job become a headache? Re: Cub.. The inner brake pedal rotates a bar that goes to the other side of the tractor in order to operate the left brake. This pedal has to slide off this bar so that the floor pan can slide off since the floorpan is welded to a bracket that also slides onto this bar. I turned a four-sided set screw to slide off the brake pedal and it broke off. It looks like it screws into a nut that is welded to the brake pedal base...I guess I have to drill this out..I did soak it with penetrating oil overnight...am I overlooking something or is this just part of taking apart a 59 year old tractor? I still have to get the set screw out of the collar holding the floor pan to the bar. ...any ideas? the lever that locks the left brake to the right brake pedal is in the locked position..I soaked it with oil, used a torch and a hammer to no avail. Just another problem related to removing a simple floorpan..
