I bought this tractor awhile back as a parts tractor for my 460D restoration project. The tractor is fairly complete except it has no engine. It was a factory LP setup and someone pulled the engine out and was going to install a diesel befor they lost interest. Instead of parting it out as a donor tractor, I have found a C263 gas engine out of a IH615 combine and was wondering how difficult that installation might be. Any thoughts? Also the 460 does not show the upgraded rearend symbol on the serial tag as my diesel does. Would the C263 be to much power for the rear end. It does not have a t/a. It would not work hard except at the local tractor pull or maybe a hayride.
