Al P.,To find #1 TDC put your thumb over the spark hole on #1 cyl (the one closest to the rad)and turn the engine till you feel outward pressure.Keep turning till the D.C. mark on the flywheel and the pointer on the bellhousing line up(look thru the hole on the bellhousing on the left side as you are in the seat)adjust the valves on #1 at this point.rotate the engine 1/2 a turn and adjust #3.rotate a 1/2 a turn and do #4.rotate 1/2 a turn again and do #2.you are now done.your valves should be set at .016 both intake and exhaust,cold.I hope I have helped,good luck.
